Sleeping Beauty

Melodramatics are proud to present our 2026 pantomime and our stage is set for a magical show the whole family will love.

Brought to you by the multi award winning Melodramatics writing team, this year’s show will leave you spellbound, amazed and laughing until it hurts. We have it all – a fantastic cast, an amazing original script and music, creative scenery, magical props, colourful costumes and a top notch backstage crew.

Come and meet the good people of F’nee and follow our tale as we see our Princess and her new found friend, Charlotte Muckspreader fall under the spell of Granny Cackle’s sleeping curse.

How will they escape? What’s that terrible smell? And what’s with the goat? The answers to all of these questions and more are awaiting you in our hilarious, heart warming, and wonderful show.

Chairman’s Address

Hello hello hello! It is my immense pleasure to welcome you all back to Melodramatics for Sleeping Beauty!

This year we plunge into a happy world of industrious Thatch, out-of-touch royals, gossipy fairies, and goat enthusiasts with delusions of grandeur. Despite the throes of envy and despair threatening the happiness of our heroes, can they find the bonds of love and friendship that transcend class and bring peace again (and clean up all this goop)?

This year I would like to extra extra extra acknowledge the remarkable and inspiring work that goes on behind the scenes for these silly productions. The people who pour their time and sparkling creativity into such delights as our props, costumes, and scenery cannot be praised enough – their work injects these shows with an energy and joy that is so essential to what makes Melodramatics and pantomime special in my heart.

And thank you too to the Committee members who enable all this. Melodramatics will be turning 37 this year, and some of our members have been here that entire time! In positions that could be draining, they have made the running of this society a rare pleasure, and it is a true priviledge to continue their tradition of fun.

So please join me in celebrating all the members of this wonderful society, and here’s to another year of panto!
